Western media reports indicate that the vacuum that will result after the French military withdrawal from West African countries will increase the chances of the expansion of international terrorism in the region, especially from the Russian Wagner mercenary groups and their supporters around the world, after confirmation of the appointment of a new leadership for them.
In light of these developments, a very important question arises: What will the African future look like under this hypothesis, especially on the security level?
To answer this question, Al-Farouk Amin, a political analyst and researcher in African affairs, says that Africa is promised a dark future in terms of its continental security, as a number of african countries suffer from instability in the wake of the recent coups, especially the countries of Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso, which are the countries that decided France ended its military presence there at the request of the new authorities.
Western media reports said that the coup in Niger was caused by the reform efforts undertaken by elected president Mohamed Bazom. He made great efforts against corruption. And his effort to control the financial disbursement of the Presidential Guard.
Al-Farouk adds that the departure of the French will leave the field open to increase terrorist activities on the continent, and it is known that the regimes in these countries are weak regimes and suffer from weak economies, which makes them easy prey for terrorist activities. Al-Farouk put a bleak picture of the future of these countries in light of the growing tide of terrorism and cross-border crime, pointing here to the ambitions of the Eastern bloc searching for these opportunities.
